While some people with autism can live independently,others have severe disabilities and require life long care and support. Evidence based psychosocial interventions can Improve communication and social skills,with a positive impact on the well being and quality of life of both autistic people and their caregivers.
Archways Center based in Richards Bay, is a developmental sanctuary for students with intellectual and physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy and who are in wheel chairs, children who have ASD and are non verbal and possibly non responsive, down syndrome kids, that are also non verbal. They provide care for severely disabled children to get to the highest potential.
They assist children to learn to feed themselves,others it's learning to speak and read, eventually go on to grade 1 even if they are just ten years old. Their primary school accepts them whee mainstream schools won't.
